Daffodil picking

Daffodil picking, 2023, by Michael Steele. Mixed media collage

Sometimes grief can be overwhelming. Though there isn’t a magic wand to make is vanish I do find creating art therapeutic and calming. This work Daffodil picking I created over the weekend inspired from childhood memories with my late mother. I used a photo of when I visited a daffodil farm with family friends Katherine and Celia, as well as mum and myself.

I created a Instagram reel which glimpses into my process. You may like to create your own collage, cutting and mixing photographs, printed images and painted paper like I have done.
